Random thoughts on a happy Saturday morning:

1. Have you ever played Mahjong before?

I am HOOKED.

I taught the twins and my mom and my nephew and we have some friends coming over tonight to play. It is so much fun.

2. Does your doormat ever get dirty? I just saw the best solution that protects your doormat (especially because we are heading into muddy season).

You can see it here.

3. This next weekend is the first football game. I’m looking at you, Baylor. I’m thinking about wearing cowboy boots.

But then I remembered I’ll be sitting in the sun for four hours.

Decisions. Decisions.

4. We just watched the sweetest movie. It’s called The Keeper. It’s based on a true story about a German POW who became the goal keeper for the Manchester United Football (Soccer) team in England.

There’s a little romance, a little comeback story and it’s such a feel-good movie.

5. It was a great week on the blog. We talked about:

5. If you live locally, Richardson Reads is coming up. It’s where the entire city of Richardson reads the same book and then the author comes to speak here locally.

You can see all about it here.

And now?

Here are some of my favorite ideas and inspiration from around the web.

Here’s a hint.

All fall. All the time.

A loaf of homemade bread with visible nuts, placed on an orange and white checkered cloth. One slice has been cut and lies next to the loaf. In the blurry background, a cake stand with a white cup and bits of crumbs can be seen.

Look at this sourdough cranberry bread.

Doesn’t it look perfect for the holidays?

You can see the recipe here.

Three ceramic leaves with the words "sharp," "cheddar," and "aged" stamped on them are arranged on a wooden surface. The leaves are realistically shaped and painted in fall colors. Nearby are two round crackers and a wooden board in the background.

I thought this was such a clever take cheese markers.

You could make any pattern you want with any message that you want for fall.

See the DIY here.

A cozy porch decorated for fall. A large "FALL" sign hangs from the ceiling. The porch swing is adorned with orange and plaid pillows. Various pumpkins, plants, and string lights add to the festive autumn ambiance.

This fall porch is so pretty.

It has the coziest decor details.

You can see the space here.

Close-up of an autumn-themed décor arrangement featuring a golden leaf-shaped bowl. The bowl rests on a wooden surface adorned with pine cones, leaves in green, brown, and cream, and acorns, creating a warm and festive fall atmosphere.

This is the cutest DIY leaf dish.

The project is perfect for fall and it’s so easy.

Did you see the displays at Magnolia for the fall? They are so inspirational.

A red candle jar labeled "Better Homes & Gardens: Farm Apple & Pumpkin" is placed on a surface. Behind the candle, there are a couple of stacked books, a butter dish, and a large white plate. The background is slightly blurred.

SO many of you sent me the sweetest emails about this candle.

It is SO FALL and SO next level and so affordable and burns for 52 hours.

If you only get one candle this season?

Make it this one.

One more for the road

Do you remember this tree that turns into a trivet that my brother made me?

You can see the project and this tree here.

In amazing news, I found almost the exact tree that turns into a trivet just like this that would make the cutest hostess gift for the holidays.

You can see it here.
