Random thoughts on a freezing cold winter morning:

1. In amazing news? If you read this story I have a PS.

I’m GETTING THE DOORS. Now I just need to figure out what I’m doing with them.

Stay tuned.

2. Is it kind of random that I’m so excited about Valentine’s Day?

Maybe it’s because Christmas is over and I need a new holiday to look forward to.

To celebrate I posted the cutest sweaters at the end of the post.

3. And what do we think of Valentine’s Day trees? Are you team heart tree or team pack it up after Christmas?

4. It is so cold in Texas. It’s supposed to be 29 degrees next week.

I’m not sure what’s happening.

Someone forgot to tell the weatherman we are not Canada.

5. It was an amazing week on the blog. We discussed:

  • 21 ideas to transition from Christmas to winter decor
  • top 21 reader’s favorite products from 2024
  • my top 10 favorite books from 2024
  • how I store all my Christmas stuff

6. Have you used a sugar scrub with oil this winter? It’s such a great way to keep your hands soft and hydrated.

This Vitamin C sugar scrub is on sale today.

And now?

Ready for a little inspiration?

Here are some of my favorite finds from this week.

A cozy living room features a brick fireplace with a large colorful painting above it. Bookshelves surround the fireplace, filled with books and decorative items. A sofa with patterned pillows sits in front, and small plants add a touch of greenery.

Isn’t this the sweetest spring mantel?

I know it’s freezing outside, but let’s think spring.

See the how-to here.

A charcuterie board with heart-shaped bowls of almonds and chocolate, arranged with salami roses, raspberries, white cheese slices, and wrapped chocolates. A candy cane and bouquet of pink roses are also present, alongside cherry tomatoes.

This is the cutest idea for Valentine’s Day.

It’s a charcuterie board.

You can see the how-to here.

You know how much I love a topiary.

Seriously.

And this one is made from live moss.

You can see the DIY here.

A bright living room with white walls and ceiling features a wooden coffee table, two white sofas, and a large potted plant. A decorative light fixture hangs above, and a large window lets in natural light. A rug and small decorative items complete the scene.

Did you know you can paint plywood?

Collage of Valentine's Day sweaters, featuring designs like "XOXO," "LOVE," stripes, and heart patterns in red, white, pink, and black. Models pose wearing the various themed sweaters.

// red sweater with pink heart // cream and pink heart sweater //pink stitch heart sweater //

This is the time of year that I order my Valentine’s Day sweater.

I actually have an entire Valentine’s Day try-on coming.

You can see the one I just ordered here (it’s more of a t-shirt but it’s SO CUTE).

I shared these labels this week and I also wanted to pass along a tip a wonderful reader gave me.

She suggested that these tote labels are a good tool for insurance claims, so if you have to do inventory for an insurance claim you have a record of what is stored in totes. Trying to remember every item can be so overwhelming. You can use the labels as a way to itemize your home in case of a flood or fire or natural disaster. What a great idea.

You can see the tote labels here.

Happy random Saturday to you
