Westleigh just got her wisdom teeth out and we are on a movie marathon today and a football playoff day tomorrow.

And now—in my football era—today I wanted to talk about organizing (I’ve been nesting and organizing since January 5 with no signs of stopping).

I’m sharing all of my favorite products (and some new ones I just ordered that I’m all about). Before I share the ideas? I also want to share some encouragement. Rome wasn’t organized in a day and your home won’t be either. Start small. Use one tip with one drawer or one closet or one shelf in the linen closet and organize that. Then the next day? Tackle another space. Every day all those little organizing tips will add up to a house that will make you so happy every time you open a cabinet.

21 Organizing Products That Make Life Easier

1. These food huggers

You know how much I love my diet coke with lime.

Or my sweet tea with lemon.

But what happens when you cut the lemon or the lime and then you are left with the half? You put it in a plastic bag and it can go bad or get brown so easily.

Why not try these instead?

Look what I discovered? These round silicone sleeves stretch to fit common fruit and vegetable halves and they come in set of large, medium and small (I added the chart so you can see). It cuts down on plastic bag use because you can just use them again and again.

I also found this one that works with avocado, too—instead of round they are the shape of an avocado (including the pit).

2. Extra drawer organizer

This is MY FAVORITE organizer in the fridge.

These are extra drawers that are installed under your shelves in the fridge.

I’ve had these for over a year and I LOVE them. They have tons of compartments if you want to keep sauces and condiments organized or you can remove the dividers and store extra supplies. I use them to store leftovers and extra dips.

3. This car organizer

With all our traveling back and forth to Waco, I needed something that kept everything in its place in the car.

Have you ever noticed that there are certain things you just need to keep in the car? Like wipes, paper towels, an extra blanket, a pair of flat shoes (that’s for when my heels are too much to make it to the football stadium). You start collecting things and then they are rolling around in the back of the car.

4. Paper towel holder under sink

Whenever I have a party?

Someone asks me for a paper towel and I’m so proud to share my paper towels.

The paper towels were right there under the sink and easy to get to and easy to grab the roll off the organizer if you needed the entire roll for some reason.

This organizer comes in several different colors and it’s easy to install—you can either stick it on or you can drill it into the cabinets.

5. Mug storage

I love keeping our mugs right by the coffee maker which makes it so easy to grab a quick cup of coffee.

6. This wrap organizer

There’s nothing better than opening up a drawer and seeing this.

I have a version of this that I use all the time.

It keeps all the wrap organized and everything in its place.

7. Stemware storage

This is such a space saver for storing glasses like these. This glassware rack slides onto the shelf above and then you just slide the stemware onto the rack.

You can store the glasses and leave space underneath for plates or bowls. Plus—the glasses collect less dust, too.

8. Add expandable drawer organizers

My challenge with my closet is that I have extra large drawers.

And large drawers?

They have a tendency to get jumbled.

So I found these expandable drawer organizers on Amazon.

They come in a set of four in different colors (I ordered them in white) and they stretch between the sides of the drawer and snap into place.

They really do stay in place and they create compartments for socks and pajamas and other items.

I know you may be raising your eyebrows at me right now.

Spices? KariAnne?

In amazing, wonderful, incredible news, my children love to cook and bake. (I’m not sure where they got the gene from).

Denton usually cooks now when he’s home and he’s SUPER into spices so I had to break out the set and get all organized.  So I have tons of spices in the house and they were taking over the kitchen cabinet. The thing about spices is that it’s hard to see them in the cabinet.

That’s why I LOVE my expandable spice riser.

10. Lazy Susan organizer

I ordered this for the fridge and I’m thinking about getting a few more for the pantry.

It makes finding things so much easier.

I chose this lazy susan organizer because there are four compartments that lift out which makes cleaning them so much easier.

If you don’t want to use the compartments, you can remove them and just use the lazy susan.

11. Egg organizer

I just finished cleaning the refrigerator out after Easter (I’m looking at you sweet potatoes).

There’s nothing better than a clean fridge and having all the organizers to keep everything in its place. I love this egg organizer for keeping the eggs fresh and organized. It holds 18 eggs and has a lid on the top so you can add other organizers or stack other items on top.

Mine is currently sold out, but here’s a super similar egg organizer.

12. Pull out shelf under the cabinet

I know I’ve shared this before but it is SO WORTH IT. I just used it today.
 
Where do you keep your sponge?
 
I used to keep it on the edge of the sink.
 
I even ordered cute sponges that matched my kitchen. The challenge is that all sponges start out cute and then it’s downhill from there. The sponges get so icky after a while that I didn’t want them on the sink. So I’d put them under the sink and they’d get lost and glumpy and mix in with everything else. I’d kneel down trying to find the sponge or a cleaner or the dish soap or these cute blue and white reusable dish towels and I’d get so frustrated.
 
And then I found this pull-out organizer.
 
I’ve used it for about nine months now and I love it just as much as the first day it was installed.
 
It keeps everything organized under the sink because you just pull it out to use it and put everything right back where it goes.
 
Every time I pull it out it makes me so happy.

13. Use these moveable plastic drawer organizers

Until recently my drawers looked like the picture above.

But then I found these drawer organizers (and they are on sale right now).

The answer was so easy it was brilliant.

Why not use individual plastic organizers that I could move around to accommodate everything I had in the drawer?

No more searching for scissors.

No more digging through drawers to find a pencil

No more disorganization with all my drawer mess.

14. Can organizer

I can’t stand digging around in a cardboard can box in the fridge.

They always get stuck on my shelves and I have to clean off cardboard remnants from my shelf. It’s so satisfying to open the cardboard box and put every can in this organizer and then just pull one out when you need it.

15. Velvet hangers

Here’s another space saver. If you’ve ever used velvet hangers like these before, you are nodding.

They are a game-changer. They are so narrow, so you can hang more clothes in a closet and maximize space.

But my best velvet hanger advice? They are not created all the same. I ordered some and they weren’t sturdy enough and broke easily (especially under the weight of heavy coat).

You also want hangers that have a pants hanger at the bottom so you can hang up an outfit or pants in addition to tops.

These are my favorite ones I’ve used. They come in a set of 50 and they are SO STURDY.

I also found these hangers that hold leggings if you are short on drawer space.

16. Use shoe storage containers

I also love these shoe storage containers and have them in another closet for scarves and socks and miscellaneous stuff.

They have doors that open and there’s so much affordable storage.

17. Food storage containers

I eat so many fruits and vegetables (which are so expensive now) and I wanted to keep them fresh (and organized) in the fridge so they were ready at a moment’s notice. I want to bring them home from the grocery store, clean and wash them, and put them into a container so I have them ready.

Then there are no excuses not to eat them. I tried so many different containers and other products that are designed to make life easier and I figured out three things about myself:

  1. I really, really like harder plastic for food storage containers. I think it cleans up better and holds up better over time and I like how clear and see-through it is.
  2. I am kind of picky about my plastic. I wanted to make sure I was using BPA-free plastic for food storage.
  3. I LOVE the snap-and-click with a container. You know. The whoosh when it seals and then the click when it clicks into place. It is SO satisfying.

These containers fit all that criteria.

18. Stackable bowls

I got this set of stackable bowls at the beginning of last year and they solved so many problems.

All my bowls are organized because they stack inside each other so they are all in one place and it’s so easy to store them.

The set comes with lids for each bowls, so you can store whatever you are mixing or leftovers super easily.

19. Put matching sets of sheets in bins

This is the key to keeping my linen closet organized.

I already had these bins from another closet, but I found these and these that are SUPER similar here.

The key is you want them to be sturdy with lids.

Upstairs we have three queen/full-size beds and one twin trundle bed. So in each tote, I put a queen-sized fitted sheet and flat sheet and matching pillowcases.

One extra set in each bin for each bed.

Then I put an extra set of queen-sized sheets and extra pillowcases in an additional tote.

Usually, I just wash the sheets on the bed and put them right back on. But if I need an extra set of sheets for the bed? I just pull down the tote and open it up and everything is there smelling great (you can add in a little sachet for each tote) and dust-free.

I cannot tell you how much I love organizers like these.

They look like Grace Kelly on Oscar night.

20. Magnetic measuring spoons

It’s so frustrating to be mixing up something and in the middle of mixing, you try and find a teaspoon or a tablespoon. Mine were scattered all over the drawers.

Until.

Until I found these magnetic measuring spoons. They all stick together perfectly.

You just unstick the one you want and all the rest stay in place. You can see the magnetic measuring spoons here.

21. Make everything smell great

Now that we are all organized? The last step is to make everything smell amazing. I love, love, LOVE these cardboard diffusers from Mrs. Meyer’s.

The peony is my favorite, but they have tons of other scents, too.

It’s a cardboard tube that you open up and add the beads to it to scent it.

Then you adjust the openings on the cardboard tube to release as little or as much scent as you want.
