I think this is the year of simple for me.
Anyone else on the same page?
Right now I’m going through all my closets and drawers and cabinets and shelves and cupboards and packing it all up and donating it. I stopped working on so many things that were taking up space in my day and my head that I didn’t need to be concentrating on. I also started a simple morning routine (that I shared a while back) that’s keeping me on track and keeping me centered and keeping me focused on what’s truly important in life.
You can see my morning routine here.
I’m simplifying my stuff.
I’m simplifying my routines.
I’m simplifying my day.
And I’m simplifying my projects.
So here’s this easy simple project that takes about 30 minutes to make and will make your day (and your Valentine’s) a little brighter and I even filmed a fun video to go along with it.
I can’t wait for you to see how it turned out.
And speaking of simple?
This craft is even easier if you follow along with the video.
All the instructions are written below.
Hope this helps make it a little easier.

How To Make A DIY Valentine Heart Pillow
Supplies:
1/4 yard red burlap fabric
1 yard polka dot ribbon
cream 20″x 20″ pillow cover
fabric glue
scissors

Step 1: Cut out hearts from red burlap
You can either make a pattern and trace and cut out the hearts, or I show you my foolproof method for cutting hearts out in the video.
You’ll need about 25 hearts of varying sizes.
Cut all the larger hearts out of the red burlap.

Step 2: Cut out hearts from burlap ribbon
Next, cut the ribbon into squares.
Fold in half and cut out tiny hearts.
You’ll need about 10 hearts cut out of the ribbon.

Step 3: Assemble the red hearts
Place the red hearts on the white pillow cover.
Arrange them with different-sized hearts turned in different directions.
Leave space between each of the hearts.

Step 4: Glue the hearts
After you have the pattern that you like, glue the hearts in place.
Add fabric glue to the back of the heart.
Flip over and press into place.

Step 5: Layer the polka dot hearts
After the red hearts are glued in place, add a layer of small burlap hearts to the pillow cover.
Place the polka dot hearts on top of the red hearts.
Glue in place.

Step 6: Stuff the pillow cover
After the hearts are dry, unzip the pillow cover and add a down pillow.
Zip the pillow in place and fluff.
Now your pillow is ready to decorate.

Here’s to all the simple.
2025 is its year.
I just know it.
And in amazing news? It’s going to be a good one.
