Nautical-themed wooden decorations featuring striped fish hang from a post, adding a whimsical maritime touch to an outdoor garden setting during a beach house tour.

Random thoughts on a Saturday morning that’s full of joy:

1. Happy Easter weekend.

He is risen.

He is risen indeed.

2. It’s another beautiful day here at the Cape. There were storms when we got here, but now it’s been sunshine and ice cream.

3. I was thinking about hosting a ZOOM meeting to share how I made those illustrations from this post with everyone.

So many of you emailed me and wanted to learn how I did it.

It’s not hard.

The meeting would be about 30 minutes, and I wouldn’t charge or anything like that—just having fun and paying it forward.

Could you comment if that’s something you might be interested in?

4. I may or may not have mentioned this before, but I love Mahjong. It was so hard to learn, but now slowly, I’m learning it with each game.

I’m even playing Mahjong here at the Cape.

5. It was an amazing week on the blog. We talked about:

  • these 9 things I wish I would have bought sooner
  • once upon a time there was a house
  • how to organize a small closet
  • 9 creative uses for coffee grounds

And now?

Ready for a little inspiration?

Here are my favorite links from the week.

A blue and white porcelain teapot with a floral pattern holds pink cherry blossoms; the teapot lid rests nearby on a white surface with scattered petals, set in a bright, modern kitchen.

And if you read my post about coffee filters this week?

Look at this idea I found.

How to make cherry blossoms from coffee filters.

See the DIY here.

A wooden cabinet displays neatly arranged white ceramic pitchers, cake stands, bowls, and plates on shelves. A chandelier and framed artwork are partly visible nearby. The image is branded with "Mustard Seed Interiors.

This was a gentle reminder of the practice of letting things go.

There’s a line that says something (and I’m paraphrasing) after you part with sentimental stuff, the memories remain.

Such a good read and you can see it here.

A top-down view of dried pink flowers arranged in a rustic bowl, showcasing faded petals and intricate textures on a soft beige background.

Have you ever tried to dry flowers?

I think it’s a beautiful way to preserve beautiful blooms.
