Random thoughts on the Saturday between Christmas and New Year’s Day:

1. I can’t WAIT to show you the handmade presents from this year. I’m going to post them after I get back from the cruise.

I’ll give you a couple of hints:

  • unusual embroidery
  • paper
  • something painted that you’d never think of
  • book

So so so so excited to share. To tide you over here’s one of my favorite handmade presents from last year.

2. We hosted our first ever family favorite things party with all the girls in our family.

There are 14 of us and I’ll share all about the party and how it worked (and even a few of our favorite things) next week, too.

3. I took a little time off with family and friends and so I only posted a little after-Christmas organization on the blog.

But it’s a great post if you are looking for a little organization inspiration.

You can see all my Christmas organizing tips here.

4. It’s 2025 and I have a new game for us. Have you ever played “Strands” before? It’s on the New York Times Games App and it’s so good. My sister recommended it to me and I’ve been hooked ever since.

5. I also have a new author that I’m kind of obsessed with. Her name is Freida McFadden. She’s a mystery writer and every book has a twist that will make your jaw drop.

I’ve read two books by her over the break and this one is my favorite.

Here’s my favorite book list from 2023—I’m posting my 2024 list next week.

And now?

Here are some of my favorite finds from this week.

A fresh salad bowl containing grilled meat, couscous, avocado slices, and roasted purple potatoes, garnished with chopped herbs. It is set on a light gray surface with a lemon and additional dish of ingredients nearby.

I’m really into clean eating right now.

I’m working on my system and I’m excited about it.

I think I’m going to try this salmon bowl.

A modern kitchen with a farmhouse sink and faucet. A patterned towel drapes over the sink's edge. In the background, a large vase with green foliage and a red container on a wicker tray add decorative touches to the countertop.

A decorative pillow featuring three heart-shaped flowers. The flowers are red, light pink, and dark pink, each with a green stem and leaves, set against a cream background.

Isn’t this the sweetest Valentine’s Day pillow?

It’s a little smaller at 8″ x 12″ but look at those hooked hearts—the cutest.
