Festive house exterior inspired by Christmas decorating ideas for the porch, featuring red bows, garlands, and toy soldier statues flanking the entrance. Porch steps are adorned with gifts and poinsettias, while "Seven Hundred One" graces the door above in elegant display.

Random thoughts on the Saturday before Christmas:

1. I’m sending all the Christmas wishes and joy from our house to yours this week.

2. My favorite thing about this Christmas? It’s full of rest and joy and books and family.

3. We are having a family talent show on Christmas Eve. We have a french horn solo and a piano player and a comedy set and trumpeter playing “That Good ‘Ole Baylor Line.”

Denton is even printing programs.

It’s going to be EPIC.

4. We are heading out on a cruise after Christmas. I was going to order a new dress, but I just shopped my closet from last summer and found a few dresses that fit now because I lost weight and I’ve been exercising.

Merry Christmas to me.

5. It was an amazing week on the blog. We talked about:

  • what was behind door number one
  • creative ideas for the Christmas table (and the BEST recipe)
  • 20 decorating ideas from the Southern Living Idea House
  • 21 last-minute gift ideas for Christmas

And now?

Let’s see all the amazing things I found for us from around the web (including lots of recipes).

A dining room with a wooden table set with a patterned tablecloth, white dishes, and green garland. A chandelier hangs above. A wooden hutch with glass doors is in the background, and a scenic mural decorates the walls. A door is partially open.

Isn’t this the prettiest Christmas dining room?

The mural on the wall is amazing.

You can see the entire room here.

Hello breakfast.

Nice to meet you.

If you are looking for something for breakfast, these pecan sticky buns look so yummy.

See the recipe here.

A cozy attic room with a white, sparsely decorated Christmas tree adorned with pink and white baubles. The room has floral wallpaper, a bed with stuffed toys, and wrapped gifts on the wooden floor. A fluffy white dog stands near the presents.

The sweetest little tinsel tree.

And wait until you see the packages.

See the entire space under the eves here.

And this cranberry fizz “mocktail.”

It’s the perfect addition to New Year’s Eve.
