{"id":3407,"date":"2025-10-21T17:09:42","date_gmt":"2025-10-21T09:09:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/homeofmaterials.com\/2025\/10\/21\/reader-rehab-an-art-nouveau-apartment-in-antwerp\/"},"modified":"2025-10-21T17:09:42","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T09:09:42","slug":"reader-rehab-an-art-nouveau-apartment-in-antwerp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/homeofmaterials.com\/de\/reader-rehab-an-art-nouveau-apartment-in-antwerp\/","title":{"rendered":"Leser-Reha: Eine Jugendstilwohnung in Antwerpen"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When graphic designer (and Remodelista reader) Davy Dooms purchased an 850-square-foot apartment located in an Art Nouveau house in Antwerp, his goal was to create a blank canvas. \u201cIn all my work projects, I start by defining a working color palette,\u201d\u009d he says. \u201cI did the same thing in the decorating and furnishing of my own apartment.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Dooms took his color cues from a favorite exhibition poster; using a palette of \u201cwhite, black, brown, gray, and orange; this is the color combination that makes it all seem whole,\u201d\u009d he says. The rooms have a spacious feel, due to the high ceilings; Dooms\u2019 main intervention was to update the bedroom suite: He replaced the bathtub with a walk-in shower, installed a new sink, and painted the walls white to match the rest of the apartment.
