One floor above, Oberholz rents office space for those who require genuine desks and keep stricter hours. And yet another floor above, Sankt Oberholz becomes a hotel for its freewheeling, group-traveling clientele. There are two apartments for rent (with room for four to six people); each has three bedrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen, and bathroom. The owners clearly have a sense of humor: they warn of “concealed gimmicks” hidden throughout the apartments and write a blog about things that guests have left behind at the cafe. To book, visit Sankt Oberholz.

Above: The small kitchen is equipped for short-term stays.

Above: A carved settee painted white in a living area.

Above: Exposed wood beams (painted black) and a portrait of an oak tree lend modest German touches to the interior.

Above: Each suite features a master bedroom, a midsize room, and a small room.
