Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek\u2013a Remodelista favorite\u2013has collaborated with Dutch eco-bedding line Yumeko to design three handmade beds to complement the \u201cluxurious simplicity\u201d of the Yumeko brand. The beds\u2013in copper, oak, and powder-coated steel\u2013are the bedding company\u2019s first foray into furniture.<\/p>\n

Above: A copper-plated steel bed. <\/p>\n

Above: The attached headboard is lined with felt from a traditional felt maker in Portugal; it\u2019s not dyed, but is the same ivory color of the sheep\u2019s wool.<\/p>\n

Above: Hein Eek\u2019s wooden bed is made of FSC-certified solid European oak. The wood is left unvarnished to show the grain and warm color of the oak. <\/p>\n

Above: At the juncture of each bed leg, brass screws give the wooden bed a glamorous detail. <\/p>\n

Above: Hein Eek\u2019s metal bed is gray powder-coated steel. The headboard is lined with the same Portuguese felt as in the copper bed, this time of naturally brown sheep\u2019s wool.<\/p>\n

Above: The brass and steel beds are the same basic design, with diagonal steel reinforcements at each leg.  <\/p>\n

Above: The beds are made by hand in Piet Hein Eek\u2019s workshop in Eindhoven, Netherlands. <\/p>\n
