We’re an easy sell for a renovated kitchen in a characterful space. Take this new kitchen in a 1970s A-frame house in Springs, New York, for example. The owners worked with Space Theory, a simplified and affordable offshoot of Henrybuilt, to design a modern kitchen within the existing knotty pine paneling. Here’s a list of sources for the key elements that make up the look.

Materials & Hardware

Above: The cabinets are finished with Storm Grey laminate from Space Theory’s Opencase system.

Above: The counters are PaperStone, an eco-friendly pressed paper pulp often used in science labs: read about it in Remodeling 101: Paper Composite Counters for the Kitchen. The version shown is the colored PaperStone Countertop (115122) at Green Building Supply.

Above: The floor is finished with large porcelain tiles like the MSL 24 Inch Square Floor Tile, $4.99 per square foot at Build.
